The Face in the Mirror

Dealing with the challenge of adult acne, blemishes or deep wrinkles can get in the way of any woman feeling radiant and beautiful. Camilla Pinder of Myolistic Health Institute devotes her time to clearing up and lightening blemishes and evening out skin tone on women of all ages and skin colors using all natural products.

“There are people who want to correct their skin without going through something severe such as plastic surgery or laser peels,” she explains. “They don’t want  to take antibiotics or do other drastic measures, but when they look in the mirror and see their skin, it makes them feel unattractive and self-conscious.” Pinder adds that it is not merely vanity that comes into play, many women like to go natural with no makeup, but their acne or blemishes get in the way.

Pinder’s specialty is treating adult acne, but she also administers facials for relaxation and anti-aging, glycolic peels and other facial services. Grapeseed oil, which closely mimics facial oil, is used to help slough off dead skin and move along the process of turning over new skin, a sort of detox for the face. For deep cleansing, Pinder uses a ginger mask with antiseptic abilities that cleans out pores. Cleansing treatments are followed by toners and moisturizers for a fresh, clean skin feeling and a gorgeous, natural glow.

Camilla Pinder can be reached for consultations and scheduling by calling Myolistic Health Institute at 770-621- 9219. For more information, visit www.myolistic.com.

Fighting Cancer Statistics Naturally

An estimated 182,460 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the US during 2008. Excluding cancers of the skin, breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women.

M. Hank Sloan, a classically and clinically trained naturopath and nutrition specialist, is dedicated to keeping those numbers as low as possible in Atlanta, and works with primary care physicians to help his patients achieve optimal health. He uses a new test called thermography to detect the abnormal movement of blood capillaries that could be an early indication of the potential for cancerous tissue.

Thermography detects infrared heat being released from cells, indicating the potential for abnormal growth. It involves no harmful radiation and no contact or invasiveness to the patient. Test results from the few machines operating in the U.S. are sent to a centralized location where up to 15 medical doctors interpret the results of the scan. Female patient scans are maintained in a large database and viewed over time to watch for significant changes. The creator of this technology is Dr. Peter Leando at Duke University.

Ninety percent of women’s breast cancers are estrogen positive, meaning the breast tissues became active due to overexposure to estrogen cells from a number of sources, including certain birth control pills and synthetic hormone replacement therapies. An Estronex test is used at the Genesis Center to determine what type of estrogen is in the body and enable the practitioner to suggest nutritional changes and detoxification treatments based on the results.

Sloan utilizes lymphatic massage, laser therapy and detoxification, and a clinical supplementation of nutritional supplements that help cleanse the body of toxins more quickly. He encourages at-risk clients to shed extra body fat that stores estrogen and suggests various ways to implement a healthier diet and more exercise.

M. Hank Sloan has seen over 50,000 clients. His focus includes chronic fatigue, pain, gastrointestinal issues, food allergies, immune support and other areas of health for all ages and genders. For more information visit www.thegenesiscenter.com

Bringing Forth New Life

The glow of a pregnant woman is incomparable to other forms of beauty. It is the radiant shine of one who is carrying new life and bringing to fruition the unique capability of women to nurture from within. Reflexology and aromatherapy have worked wonders in this area with their ability to assist women who are trying to conceive a child.
The stress and pressure involved in trying to become pregnant exacerbate the problem, and at times all that is needed is deep relaxation techniques and simple body conditioning.

Roz Zollinger of the Heal Center has worked with clients for years to help them achieve a relaxed state of mind and prime physical conditions to bring new life into the world. She studied a process called Reflexology Assisted Fertility (RAF™) developed by Vera Krijn, a well-known reflexologist in New York.

Apart from working all the body systems, Zollinger focuses her work on the endocrine system to balance hormones and aids the body in detoxification by working the liver reflex on the feet. She uses aromatherapy oils such as geranium, clary sage, rose and almond oil on a woman's belly and on her feet, where the oils are most readily absorbed. Attention is given to the diaphragm, the solar plexus, and toning of the uterus as meridian points are tapped to assist the fertility process.

Several of Zollinger's patients became pregnant within months of receiving reflexology to assist fertility. One client was struggling to have a child and had had a series of traumatic miscarriages. After receiving reflexology sessions by Zollinger she got pregnant almost immediately and is in the midst of a healthy pregnancy. “Reflexology with aromatherapy works, allowing a woman to let go of the pressure and stress, and assuming there are no serious physical challenges, and that it is meant to be, within a few months she may become pregnant," expressed Zollinger.
