The third annual Bioneers SE convention will take place October 20-22 at the Agnes Scott College in Decatur. In addition to music, art and ritual, attendees can enjoy local workshops from the main Bioneers conference. Thursday’s program includes an evening networking reception with local food and drink, along with a talk and book signing by local economy guru Michael Shuman at the Trolley Barn.
Bioneers are biological pioneers who work with nature to heal our environment and ourselves. This culturally diverse group represents many perspectives and is comprised of scientists and artists, gardeners and economists, architects and ecologists, farmers and journalists, policymakers and citizens—everyday people committed to preserving and supporting the future of life on Earth. Their pragmatic strategies effectively address many of our most pressing ecological and societal challenges. Above all, bioneers represent a culture of solutions and seek to unite nature, culture and spirit in an Earth-honoring vision, and create economic models founded in social justice.
